Not sure what breed she is.  We’re thinking maybe a mix of terrier and chihuahua.  We’ve had her since she was about a year old for 5 years or so.  She just showed up in the yard one day and hasn’t left my side since.  For years she would, literally, sit and stare at me for hours.  What a weird but lovable dog.

Our Two Cats

These are Lady and Spooky.  Lady was a rescue from a barn fire and Spooky was a stray that we found outside of our house last fall.  It was starting to get near freezing temperatures at night and she was not more than 2 months old.  We just had to bring her in from the cold.

20 Facts About Me

Day 2 of 30 Day Challenge

Day 2 of this 30 day posting challenge.  So far, I am enjoying it.  I am really feeling a lot more engaged and motivated.  It is also helping me get into a routine and schedule of working on this blog.  I look forward to reading and responding to any comments you all might have.

20 Facts About Me

Today’s topic, 20 facts about me.  This will be fascinating.  I am going list the first 20 things that come to my mind.  Hope you find it interesting.  Here we go:

  1. I am balding.  It’s not too bad and I’m not terribly self-conscious about it.  But still, I don’t exactly like it.  I have considered shaving my head.  You know, ‘cuz bald guys who intentionally go bald are cool.  Bald guys who don’t want to be aren’t.  I just don’t know what I would look like with a shaved head…it’s quite a dilemma.
  2. I think I am developing a bit of an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.  I don’t know if it is something one can develop over time, or if it is something you are just born with.  I do know that little things tend to bother me a lot more than they ever have.  It really bugs me when there are dirty dishes in the sink that are not soaking in hot soapy water.  Little things like that.
  3. I don’t like to eat sweets.  When I was younger I had such a sweet tooth.  I even wanted to be a baker.  I must have had my fill. I still enjoy baking, but prefer to cook main dishes now.  Cookies and cakes just really don’t appeal to me anymore.
  4. I want to be a stay at home dad.  It’s not really a goal or anything.  But I do dream about it a lot.  I would love spend the whole day at home with the kids without worrying about having to go back to work.  They are just the cutest, and most entertaining.  I just want to spend every minute with them. parenting tips, things your kid or child needs to see you do
  5. I’ve peed in a mailbox…more than a few times.  I am certainly not proud of this fact, but it is a fact.  I was young, dumb, full of spunk and completely embracing my boyhood.  Sorry, but it’s true.  One of the best things about camping out is peeing on things.
  6. I cannot find a dish that is too spicy for me.  Several years ago I had some chicken wings that I made with one of the hottest sauces in the world.  Ever since then, I have tried some of the hottest peppers and sauces.  It sort of desensitized me enough to be able to truly enjoy the flavors and complexity of some really spicy dishes.  Although, anything made with a Carolina Reaper is difficult.
  7. I am a wannabe prepper.  Or maybe I am a prepper, just not a very good one.  I have well stocked survival “bug out” bags. Each with the essentials for basic primitive survival.  I just have a hard time stockpiling items such as food and water.
  8. I try to eat healthy most of the time, but binge on salty snacks.  I don’t binge often, but when I do I just can’t stop.  Pringles, Fritos, and tortilla chips are front-runners.
  9. I watch kids TV shows more than “grown-up” shows.  The joys of being a parent I suppose.  Our favorites are Garfield and Friends, Sid the Science Kid, and Sheriff Callie.
  10. I tan like a pro.  I used burn like a pro, but got a really good tan once and now can easily get a nice bronze.  Once summer I decided to get a tan instead of a red.  I spent only 10-15 in the sun. But I but I did it every single day, and without sunscreen.  By the end of summer I had a expert looking tan.  And ever since, had never really needed sunscreen.
  11. I was once able to do 100 chin-ups in a row.  Again, over the summer. I started with 1.  Then added one more every day for 100 days.
  12. Chick flicks make me cry.  Well, not really.  I did tear up when I first saw “The Notebook” though.  That’s right, I admit it.  It is a good movie a very emotional story.  Anyone who disagrees has no soul.  parenting tips, things your kid or child needs to see you do
  13. I have skinned a coyote. First time skinning an animal.  It was a learning experience.  Not nearly as hard as plucking a duck…never again.
  14. I have hatched and raised chickens.  And I would do it again.  It was so much fun.  I really enjoyed taking care of them and collecting eggs everyday.  An educational experience for Delilah as well.  Here’s a great I learned: If they won’t lay, give them hot pepper seeds.  You’ll have eggs within days.
  15. I really enjoy making things out of nothing.  I used to like to paint and make music.  I really enjoy gardening and cooking.  Fixing things and creating things are some the my greatest pleasures.
  16. I am a big supporter for the paleo-diet.  I just feel that it is the most natural diet for weight loss and healthy living.
  17. I love motorcycles. And I will get another one. Period.
  18. I want to camp at Yellowstone National Park for a week.  Since our little teaser day through the park, I cannot stop thinking about spending a whole week there.  What an amazing place.
  19. I like weddings. I used to edit wedding videos and have been to probably close to 100 weddings.  The receptions are the best planned parties with the best music and a great way for families to get together and have fun. Side note, I may be catering my first wedding next year!
  20. I have a pimple on my nose. It’s great, I feel like teenager again! LOL.

Day 1 – Introduction and Recent Photo

Recent Photo

Me and Delilah at Yellowstone

This is a photo of me and Delilah when we went on our first family road trip to Oregon.  We decided to drive through Yellowstone National Park on our way back home.  It turned out to be a major milepost of our vacation, definitely will not forget.

I was born in Tucson, Arizona in 1981. The youngest of three, son of Sue and Bill Breazeale. I also have Vietnamese foster brothers.  I played the trumpet for five years, wrestled for 5 years in high school.

My first job was a in a hotel, I worked there for 4 years.  I currently also work in the hotel industry.  I have had a variety of different jobs in the past, but mainly in the hospitality, security, and maintenance industries.

I have always had a passion for cooking.  Starting at the age of maybe 1o or 12, I only wanted cooking appliances and utensils.  I loved watching cooking shows. “Wok With Yan” was my favorite.  My second was Julia Child, and for some odd reason I could not get enough of Ron Popeil infomercials.

I became a father for the first time August first, 2011.  Delilah, next to my wife Sarah, is the love of my life.  I became a father a second time to our son Alex on October 20th, 2014.  Because of these three human beings, I could not imagine ever being unhappy.

We moved from Tucson, Arizona to Broken Bow, Nebraska three years ago.  I think I will always be a Wildcat though.  Nebraska is wonderful, but I will always miss the desert.

I am just getting into bloggin, and also wanting to do some video blogging.  Feel free to check out our YouTube channel.  Ideally, I would like to have a video to go along with most my blog posts.  Or a blog post to go along with all of my videos.  We’ll see ho

w that goes.

I think that’s about it for my intro.  Feel free to comment. Looking forward to my hearing from you.  Please come back for my next post.

30 Day (Post) Challenge

I am going to challenge myself to do my best at a 30 day blog post venture.  My wife and I both work full-time, Delilah is going to school soon, and Alex is a handful.  So we will see how this goes.  A good part of this idea was inspired from Fabulous Mom Blog.

parenting tips, things your kid or child needs to see you do

Why would I do such a thing? With how busy I have been and working strange hours, it has been difficult to post here on a regular basis.  I also need to get into the habit of working on the blog every day.  I need to build content, get myself into a routine, and share a little bit more about myself here.

The Goal

The goal here is to post something everyday for 30 days.  I know things get busy sometimes and I may not be able to make that work.  At the very least, I will not stop until I have finished with these 30 posts.  Even if I have to miss a day here or there, I will continue to try to have a new post out every day.

The Schedule

Some of these post titles may not be the deepest or most stimulating, but they will add content to this blog and give readers a better picture of me and my thoughts.  So here is the rough schedule:
